The cycle of fear and violence does not end for those immigrants who are deported from the United States. A recent article by The Guardian stated that of 10,333 of those deported to Honduras, 35 were killed within months of arrival. This is not just a random occurence, it is a trend, and one that plays a part of a larger structural injustice, one that Seattle University members are paying attention to.

The ways that we tell stories are changing along with the technology that those stories are told with. Video games are just one example of the many new formats we use to communicate our stories. Modern video games contribute to the the art to storytelling, given that the escapism video games allow gives players to the ability to experience identities other than their own in an environment void of any repercussions in the physical world.

“Video games work like media, [they] are media and work like other forms of media that lead us into certain situations and teach us ways of thinking about the world,” said Chris Paul, Chair of the Communications department at Seattle University.

Vegans beware, there’s a new threat to your mission in town.

It’s not legislation and it’s not gentrification.

It’s Sevenbeef Steak Shop.

Before experiencing Sevenbeef, it would have been possible to happily live one’s life without consuming meat. Life post Sevenbeef, however, is one of desire and yearning for everything a cow has to offer to the culinary world.

Sevenbeef is a one of a kind steak restaurant that recently opened its doors on 13th and Jefferson. Much of what the restaurant serves up is sure to have customers returning to try it again and again; locally sourced grass-fed beef from Heritage Meats in Rochester, Wash., the giant wood fire grill and open kitchen, the cool atmosphere and most importantly, the staff.

Welcome back to another NerdHawk’s Guide to the nerd world! This week we are continuing with the coverage of Blizzcon 2015 and all the fun stuff that has been previewed. In the opening ceremony of Blizzcon the world was shown the first full length trailer to the live action feature film adaptation of the Warcraft universe. This is huge for the upcoming release of the new expansion to World of Warcraft titled, Legion and I can’t wait to check it out in IMAX 3D.
